Exhibitor registration is now open for the 5th annual Northern Valley Career Expo on Nov. 2 at the Alerus Center, Grand Forks
In addition to attending career seminars, led by area professionals in 22 different fields, students tour a showcase floor where businesses have hands-on exhibits designed to engage students and demonstrate skills necessary to become future employees.
The Expo introduces high school sophomores who are starting their career planning to opportunities available with Northern Red River Valley employers.
In a survey of students who have attended past expos, 77 percent say Expo has increased their interest to pursue a career in the region.
Since launching in 2012, more than 6,000 students have participated. Based on survey feedback, 77 percent of them left the event with an increased interest in pursuing a career in Northeast North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota.
